PagerDuty Automation Trial
PagerDuty’s Automation Trial provides incident responders with two key feature sets, Automation Actions and Runbook Automation.
Runbook Automation is PagerDuty’s fully managed SaaS automation platform providing online secure access to the latest commercial Rundeck feature set. Runbook Automation can be connected to Automation Actions, which allow users to run automation jobs defined in their Rundeck service within PagerDuty. With Runbook Automation, platform engineering and SRE teams are able to standardize and automate cloud ops, and in the context of incident response, Runbook Automation will help reduce incident time and the total number of escalations.
Runbook Automation connects your IT infrastructure through a Runner that is deployed within a firewall or virtual private cloud and provides an encrypted connection back the Runbook Automation endpoint. The Runbook Runner is built to meet the latest zero-trust security models. It calls back to the Runbook Automation endpoint via HTTPS (port 443). There’s no need to open additional ports in firewalls.
Automation Actions is a first-class integration between PagerDuty's incident response capabilities and cloud automation platform. Automation Actions are available directly within the PagerDuty UI so that your incident responders can enrich the incident timeline with the results of diagnostics created in your Runbook Automation trial account. Invoke Automation Actions while working from anywhere via Slack, Microsoft Teams, or the PagerDuty mobile app. Delegate automation tasks to first responders and customer service agents to shorten resolution times and fewer disruptive escalations.
